Diets suck right?
Making an effort to become healthier however, feels awesome.
There’s something so refreshing and uplifting about starting over. It’s what makes New Year resolutions so special. A chance to start fresh.
Got a weight loss or health resolution for 2011? How about starting now? By the time 2011 rolls around you’ll be in the groove and maybe a few pounds lighter!
I’ve committed myself to at least 30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week. This simple step can extend my life by 6 years.
What are your resolutions for the new year?

not a fan of resolutions, but might definitely join you on the 30 min 5 x a week exercise. Sometimes I feel my body & mind miss it more than the satisfaction of giving into those food cravings…which is often, lol. I’m into lists…time to make a new list or start a journal…which I’ve missed doing.

Jaye’s Addiction to 2 Cups of Sweat!
I got on that journey last month (November). I work out 3-5 times a week depending if muscles are sore and net time off to repair. I work out with my favorite high-impact Youtube work videos (charliejames1975) playing on mute so that I feel like someone is working out as hard as I am; and I do my own high-impact workout to my favorite music.
I have this plastic sweat suit. I workout for an 30 min – 1 hour depending on how I feel; switching from wheel push-ups, to stair climber, to squats, stretches, and sometimes what the charlie is doing on Youtube; she is a beast. But I don’t stop until the stomach of that plastic sweat suit is holding 2 cups of sweat. That 2 cups of sweat in my suit is my instant gratification, I am addicted to it but I spend 2 cups or more 3-5 times a week. I feel like I did something and my endorphins are released. I am addicted to sweating and those endorphins.
I have been shrinking and I don’t trip if I only worked out 4 or 3 times vs 5 times, because I know that every work out I do is effective. And if I have to break one day, then that is good. That means that I made changes in my body and my body is working to repair itself on my day off; to look the way I want it too.
Exercise is the best surgery. But just like surgery. It needs repair time off. Not as much as going under the knife, but it still needs time.
Healthy for now, 2011, for life. I am with you on this Tonya.

@Chai, I am totally with you on my body and mind missing exercise more than the cravings of “bad” food. I used to run 5 times a week and I still crave it. It feels good to get back into that groove.
@NappyMuseTV – a plastic sweat suit huh? I’m going to have to look it up – but in the meantime I’d love to see pictures of this thing! Thanks for your insight – you’re right about doing what your body can handle.

I read the post you did about the 30 minutes a day adding the time to your life and I was quite intrigued. I have 30 minutes a day right? Right! So that is one one my commitments, as well as eating a more whole foods diet. I became a vegetarian a couple months ago and started off well, but soon fell into a pit of junk food. I began with a healthy, whole foods Christmas and I’ve been sailing along since.
