These wastepaper baskets are handcrafted in Nepal by artisans in the remote mountain villages of Lapa, Tipling and Shertung.
They are made using discarded plastic wrappers from food products. Recycling programs have been started in the villages to encourage the collection of non biodegradable trash and to educate about the importance of protecting the natural ecology. Â Proceeds from the purchase fund primary healthcare and community education through Himalayan HealthCare!
Since 2002 the sale of gift items produced at The SPIRAL Foundation Workshop in Kathmandu have helped fund the construction and the running costs of Ilam Clinic, Nepal.
$36
