I started using parts of the Aloe For Mocha line back in March, but I decided to wait a few weeks before reviewing. I am a volunteer for founder Danna K. Johnston’s Successful Women’s Project – and I wanted to make certain I was writing an unbiased review!
Three months later I realize this review was worth the wait. I am a true fan! Danna came up with the idea for the line back in 2008. She wanted to create an organic skin care line specifically for darker skin tones. Mission accomplished! Aloe For Mocha Skin Care is a 100% paraben-free, and Danna says she has worked in a lab with scientists to create products for us that will address hyper pigmentation, under-eye circles, ashiness, acne and dryness.
This Honeymint Oatmeal Clarifying Mask promises to lift away dead cells, giving skin a fresh, radiant glow.
NN Review: I love the smell – a mix of peppermint and honey! The consistency is a little runny for my taste but it goes on smooth and dries quickly. The peppermint tingles the face, it’s invigorating. I’ve been using it twice a week for the last four weeks and my skin feels smooth. It feels like I’m indulging myself!
I was a little leery of this product. Often times “brightening” means lightening and I love my brown skin! Rest assured, the cream is intended to improve skin’s clarity and even out hyper pigmented skin. Natural licorice (NO HYDROQUINONE) and something called pepetide Lumiskin TM are the secrets to making this product awesome.
NN Review: I can certainly tell a difference – my skin looks “glowy” and healthy. It’s not heavy and it goes on smooth. It adds just the right of moisture around the dry areas of my face without making the forehead and nose (my oily parts) look like and oil slick. Love it!
I’ve always shied away from under eye circle products. Why would I need that? I’m young right? Wrong! A kid, a hubby and a full time job later I need all the help I can get! A few months ago I started to notice puffiness around my eyes – so I jumped at the chance to try this product.
NN Review: The verdict is still out on this one. I’m not sure if I can tell a difference, although I do notice my skin overall (including under my eyes) seems more even, more refined which is nice. It’s also a little pricey…maybe a few years from now when I’m really seeing those under eye circles and lines I will be eager to shell out $54 bucks!
Overall I’m a huge fan of Aloe For Mocha. Danna has passionately produced specifically for us. Click here for more info!
