Naturals – if you’re like me you’ve got dozens of web bookmarks on how to care for your natural hair. It’s sometimes hard to keep track of everything! Our new friend Cheryl Simms has come up with an innovative way to chronicle YOUR hair journey while staying organized and motivated!
Cheryl came up with the idea after reading an article on a woman who created an organizer to help women undergoing breast cancer treatment.
“I thought about how overwhelmed I was with all of the natural hair information I was collecting,” Cheryl tells us. “I went online looking for a creative way to organize my information and document my journey. I could not find anything and decided to create something.”
The 79 page journal includes:
- Guided questions to help you think about your relationship with your hair and the challenges you might face during your transition
- Tips to help you transition to natural hair
- Lists of natural hair blogs, websites, books, and YouTube Videos
- Inspirational Quotes from natural hair icons to keep you motivated
- Colorful 12 month journal to help you document your progress
- Pages to record notes and thoughts
- Areas to record photos of your journey
We’re giving one lucky reader a Natural Hair Journal ($19 value!)
Just write a comment below and subscribe to NewNaturalista on the home page and we’ll pick one lucky winner. Good luck!

WOW what a great idea. One of my Sorority Sisters sent me the link to you site. All I can say is thank you so very much. I’ve been natural for 2 1/2 years and have no idea how to properly take care of my hair. I’m still playing around with styles and products. I just recently started to chronicle my natural hair journey by sending pics to friends and family for their help and well as documentation for myself on what works and what doesn’t. Your natural hair journal would be a great way for me to do just that. I’m looking forward to My Natural Hair Journey!

Great way for people to have something tangible along their journey…really helps to get thoughts, feelings, what works & doesn’t, etc. out on paper.
