One of the amazing things about what I do is that I have the opportunity to learn about and meet new people. Sabrina – better known as “Sabbio” is an artist from France who contacted me a few weeks ago. She’s an amazing painter and crafter. Her story is proof that we must follow our bliss. To that note she says, “I’ve been in love with drawing and colors since my early childhood. But I kept following other paths in life though regularly returning, mainly as a self-taught art lover until I realized that drawing, painting and more largely creating were a full part of myself and that it was for me a real way to express and to feel peaceful and “complete”.
Sabbio says she draws her inspiration from real women, their inner strength, femininity and diverse beauty. “My love and admiration for nature is also richly inspirational and is, to me, greatly intertwined with feminity.”
Check out her work!

I really love this series of artist spotlights!
It’s always great to see beautiful things but it’s inspiring to see artists who A) look like me (a woman of color) and B) celebrate that in the face of a sometimes myopic, mainstream media (Yes, I’m talking about you Vanity Fair and your New Hollywood cover)!
