In the spirit of Meatless Monday (click here to see original story) I thought I’d share with you my experience at this year’s Vegfest in Seattle. It’s an annual vegetarian food festival put on by the Vegetarians of Washington. The experience was great – there were some food winners and also some losers. Here’s a look at what the weekend event had to offer, click the photos to read the captions.

I LOVE VegFest and we go every year! Great fun and yes, some bombs and some great stuff!!
I think Dave’s bread is about the best bread ever created. “Dense”, yes, but full of everything good for you (if you eat bread), natural, while-grain, organic: seeds, nuts, whole grains. The “dense” part is what makes it so popular and SOOO good!
Soysation cheese isn’t vegan so I didn’t try it. And as for the person demo-ing the Hatch-chile sauce with the silken tofu, I wasn’t impressed either, but the people there ARE volunteers after all, so it’s not really the products fault. And it was well worth sampling, as Hatch makes some AWESOME products and it doesn’t seem they get much attention up here in the green-chile-deficient Pacific Northwest. (Not sure why they chose SILKEN tofu for their scramble, but it was still tasty, just not the greatest texture to showcase the chiles.)
The Field Roast booth (while very busy) had some of the best products at the entire event for sure – they always do!

That’s such a positive festival! I’m a vegetarian and I think that organic vegetarian (not vegan though) way is positive and brings lots of health values!
(by the way, did you have my mail earlier this month about something you were interested in? ^^)
