A few weeks back we featured the virtues of local farmers’ markets. “Eat Fresh Where You Live”
Well since then I’ve discovered a cool little site called localharvest.org. It’s your all in one site for farmers’ market locations and it also offers what’s called a CSA Subscription (Community Supported Agriculture.) The CSA program allows you to buy a subscription of up to 20 weeks of produce!
The con is that you’re paying for your produce all at once (for instance if we joined we’d be paying about $400 for 20 wks) BUT in the long run you can save up to 40 % of what you’d be paying in the grocery store AND some farmers deliver, saving you gas money.
Again the site is localharvest.org. Here’s to healthy living!

sounds like a winner of an idea
the American consumer needs to get over the idea of “cheap” food from offshore and support the livelyhood of farmers in the community.
this sort of local stimulus could do much more than anything the government can dish out.
