Today I picked up a book called “Eat, Drink and Be Gorgeous” by nutritionist Esther Blum. It’s all about living well while living it up!

I really like this book because sometimes I think we have this crazy idea that eating well means eating boring. Good nutritious foods can be so much more exciting than eating junk, and as the book title implies, eating well will certainly keep you gorgeous.

The book also speaks heavily to the idea that everything in moderation is ok – basically the more you deprive yourself, the more likely you are to binge off of whatever you’re yearning for.

The tips inside this gem of a book appear pretty easy to implement. So, for the next 30 days I will be incorporating some of the knowledge from this book – and sharing it with you!

Here’s the first Eat, Drink and Be Gorgeous tip of the week -

To calculate exactly how many ounces of water you need a day, divide your body weight in half, that’s the number of ounces to shoot for.  (A 150 pound person would need to drink 75 ounces, or 9 (8 ounce per glass) of water per day.

  • For every 20 minutes of exercise you will need an additional 4 to 8 ounces of water.
  • For every caffeinated or alcoholic beverage you consume, drink an additional 8 ounces of water to compensate for their dehydrating affects.

Drink up!
