Coco’s Pizza On A Dime

  • 1 French Bread or Italian bread
  • 1/2 jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms, or to desire
  • 1/cup of onions
  • 1/2 lb. sausage
  • 1 cup of chopped egg plant, or to desire
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 2 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella, or 1 1/2 package of sliced cheese
  • 1 tsp of basil, or to desire
  • 1 tsp pepper

Directions:

Heat oven to 385 degrees. Cook sausage and onions in a pan and drain oil. Set aside.

Cut bread in half. Spread spaghetti sauce to desire on bread. Next, place slices of tomatoes on bread. Add sausage and onion mixture on top, then mushrooms and egg plant. Sprinkle basil and pepper. Last, cover both halves with cheese. Bake for 15-18 minutes, depending on heat of oven, or until cheese is melted and brown in some areas. Yields 8 servings.

*You can add whatever you want, or whatever is in your fridge like I did. Pizza is a poor man’s food that became popular because it’s cheap and filling.

Cost Breakdown

1.49 – bread

2.99 – sausage

1.49 – sauce

.70 – onion

1.00 – tomato

1.49 – mushroom

Total $9.16

Enjoy!
