There are so many sites out there today, you can find just about anything you want. For me, Black Love Poster fulfills a need I didn’t know I had.
It’s no secret that black love is often under attack, from the inside and the outside. “Black men are no good,” “He’s cheatin’ on you girl” “Black women can’t find partners…Black women aren’t desired” How many times have we heard variations on that theme? Leila from Black Girl Long Hair created this photo site, highlighting beautiful black relationships, proof that black love is alive and well!

I think the blog is great, and had a link on my blog. Then the site seemed to go private, so I cannot access it. Anyways, I think it was a great blog and hope can link into it again.

My boyfriend and I LOVE Black Love Poster. The first time I saw the site my breath caught in my chest and I had a lump in my throat. We really need to see this, hear this, that we are wanted. Black love did not just exist in our parent’s generation. It’s alive and thriving. The myth of the black pathology has for too long received black and white cheerleaders profiting off of mythical books and shallow movies filled with skewed facts designed to keep us doubting ourselves and our beautiful community. My boyfriend said it like this one day, “Most brothers LOVE themselves some SISTERS. Despite the attempts by white and black media to communicate the contrary. Please come back, Black Love Poster.
