Today I just want to sit in a bucket of ice. This heat, as my Mother loves to say, “is off the chain.”
Texas is like a furnace right now. Every day we’re close to hitting triple digits—and if the thermometer doesn’t peak past 100, it cools down to right around 98!
I’d like to say I hate the heat—but quite frankly, I have learned to respect it.
Being thrown in an oven is often the best thing that could happen to anyone.
Without intense heat and pressure a lump of coal never becomes a diamond. Without a stalking hot head, you never learn their true purpose. Folks, they’re a compass! And whenever you truly question if you’re on the right track – just remember, whereever you find the greatest heat, there lies your greater purpose. The added pressure only brings forth a precious jewel!
So as I write this, I know full well that come Wednesday, I’m about to walk into a scorcher!! If my baby hasn’t turned out of breech position, I will be blessed with an uncomfortable procedure. Yeah, I would like to avoid it—but that would be like avoiding the heat—and my baby is a diamond. So I’ll take the heat: Deal with it, learn from it, and enjoy its rewards.
