One of the hottest trends for spring 2010 is the western trend. The looks shown on the spring 2010 runway by D&G illustrates just how sexy and on trend a western inspired look can be. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana sent modern prairie cowgirls down the runway in leather corsets, blazers, fringed skirts, and prairie shirts. These looks were created using integral pieces that easily evoked the western feel of the collection.
The western look draws inspiration from cowboys and cowgirls, dusty prairies, Native American influences and saucy barmaids. The look incorporates menswear separates, full skirts and leather accents with a good old fashioned sprinkle of denim and fringe. The western look isn’t hard to identify – the tooled leather, the ruffles, beading and corsetry is a dead giveaway! Here are a few ways to incorporate the western inspired look and making it “at home” on your own range:
