One of my favorite bloggers Andrea from Fly Girls gave a thumbs up to Beautiful Curls Curl Activating Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner so I decided to give it a try!
PRICE: $12 for both the shampoo and conditioner (I purchased them from Whole Foods.)
RESULTS: The smell…there really is none! The shampoo had a nice thickness to it and after rinsing I felt a little “spring” to my curls.
The leave-in conditioner provides just enough thickness for my hair type without weighing it down. My hair was also really soft. I let my hair air dry – a few hours later there was definite curl definition. The next time around I’ll probably add a bit of aloe vera gel or another gel product to get a bit more hold.
I LOVE that this product is organic and certified fair trade, the shea butter is handcrafted by the Alaffia Shea Butter Cooperative in Sokodé, Togo West Africa. All of the products are then made and distributed right here in Washington State!

yep, I succumbed too after hearing about it, lol! I love Alaffia products and picked it up on my last run to Whole Foods. Good stuff, especially for the price…a l’il bit goes a long way.

I tried the deep conditioner. I was not impressed. It has no slip at all.

I review it on two different hair types on my blog , but when it tried it myself . I just didnt like it at all. I have the deep conditioner as well and hopefully I will like that much better than the leave in conditioner and the curling cream

@Shawny, you know I have to agree with you on this (which means I’m amending my original review)
I wrote my initial review after trying it out once, since then I have tried it a couple of times and I was bothered that there wasn’t much “slip.” There is also a slight odor that stays on the hair days after the wash. It isn’t strong, but it isn’t pleasant either. I’d love to hear your review of the deep conditioner. Link it here on on our page http://www.facebook.com/newnaturalista

@Angel, I agree. Slip is SO important.
