I know, I know…it’s difficult to think about spring when you’re bundled up under three layers of winter garb.  In reality spring officially starts March 20th and soon we’ll be replacing our wool for cool, sleek fabrics.  Designer Tracy Reese offers us a little inspiration.

We here at New Naturalista have admired Reese for years.  She’s a hometown girl, born and raised in Detroit. (Note to Detroiters: She graduated from Cass Tech.)  Reese has also been hailed as one of the most successful black women in fashion – her clothing lines TR and Plenty can be purchased at major retailers like Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales.

Reese describes her spring 2010 collection as “a study of juxtapositions; the contrast between architectural and relaxed silhouettes, hard and soft, sheer and opaque.”  There’s certainly a focus on draping and ruching with vivacious color combinations and prints.  Reese was kind enough to send New Naturalista photos of her latest collection.  She breaks this collection into categories…”fiercely optimistic,” “sweet mix” and “interior discourse.”  Enjoy.
