Sounds like an interesting book! I’ve been through many hairstyles from braids to perms to cutting it all off and, yes, even weaves. But I must say I am happiest with my locs (which is why I’m growing my second set of locs right now). I love being natural!

I will definitely check out this book. I look forward to learning more about how our history as enslaved people affects our hair today. I don’t wear my hair natural but I always appreciate learning as much as I can about our hair and healthy hair practices so that no matter what choice I make, I am always making an informed choice about what’s best for me.

That book sounds awesome. I am on the natural hair journey as well. Not ready to loc it up yet, but almost there. But since I have been perm free, my hair has grown so fast and its so healthy.

I am currently transitioning from relaxed to natural hair so this book would be invaluable. I really want to succeed on my journey as I tried and failed back in 2007.
